Delete your wordbeat account
This page explains how to delete your wordbeat account and the data associated with it. You can delete your account yourself in the app, or request deletion by email.
Option 1: Delete your account in the app
- Open wordbeat and sign in.
- Go to your profile and open the settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion.
Your account and data are deleted immediately. This works the same in the iOS and Android apps and in the web app at app.wordbeat.co.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us at support@wordbeat.co from the email address linked to your wordbeat account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the request and confirm once the deletion is complete, typically within a few business days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes all data associated with it, including:
- your profile and account details
- your learning history, sessions, and word progress
- your conversation history
- your friendships, duel history, and competition entries
This deletion is cascading and irreversible. If you have an active web subscription, deleting your account also cancels it with Stripe.
What is kept
We do not keep your account data after deletion. Note the following, however:
- Subscriptions bought on iOS or Android are billed by the App Store or Google Play. Deleting your account does not cancel them — cancel in your device's subscription settings. Purchase and billing records held by Apple, Google, or Stripe are retained by those providers under their own policies.
- Emails you have sent to our support address may be retained as long as needed to handle your request.
